Kaiser Transport, Inc. takes pride in it fleet of late model, top of the line air-ride trucks. Since the formation of Kaiser Transport, Inc. we have run the Peterbilt 389 Extended Hood Trucks. We outfit the trucks with 18 speed transmissions as well as the Cummins ISX Engines that provide reliable, fuel efficient,and environmentally safe power. The trucks are also equipped with a lot of extras ( such as GPS units, built in refrigerator, remote control CD,AM, FM/Satellite radios, air-ride seats, extra lights, etc) that provide our drivers with a safe and comfortable truck that they can take pride in driving. The drivers choose the color of their trucks and are allowed to customize their trucks with chrome, lights and vinyl lettering. Kaiser Transport, Inc. maintains it's fleet mechanically and cosmetically to provide a dependable and reliable means of freight transportation and an image that our customers and drivers deserve and expect. We replace the equipment on a regular schedule to maintain the high quality of equipment that has become synonymous with Kaiser Transport, Inc.
Kaiser Transport, Inc. has custom built bulkheads (droms) installed on the trucks to store the equipment that our drivers need to tarp and secure the freight. Kaiser uses quality furniture pads to pad and protect the customer's freight. The tarps that are used to weather protect the freight are custom made, high quality commercial tarps that have added rows of "D Rings"(to allow the drivers to keep the tarps tight and secured so they do not flap or sail in the winds- which can damage the freight). The tarps also have front and rear flaps, and other features allowing our driver to completely tarp the required freight. The drivers carry an assortment of tarp sizes - 10 ft; 8ft, 4ft drops and a variety of smaller tarps to cover the pallets or other items. They also carry a variety of industry approved securement devices that allow them to secure all shapes and sizes of freight. Kaiser Transport, Inc. uses late model Reitnouer 48ft, 102" wide all Aluminum Air-ride Step -Deck and Double-Drop Trailers. They have the rear spread axles with air gauges and dump values. These aluminum trailers allow Kaiser Transport, Inc. to legally haul up to 48,000lbs of freight. The trailers also are custom built to our spec's with extra storage boxes and compartments for the equipment the driver's need.
The trailers are equipped with four nailing strips; movable risers that can level off the top deck; securement brackets that can be placed anywhere on the trailer to provide the best location to attach the straps and chains to properly secure the freight; as well as extra ratchets and securement locations built into the trailer. These custom built trailers are some of the best in the industry which provides to our customers the confidence and satisfaction that their freight will be handled and secured with the best equipment and also makes our driver's job of securing the freight easier and safer. Kaiser's terminals are equipped with custom made "Tarp Spreaders" that keep the driver's from climbing up unto the freight to open up the tarps. The "Tarp Spreaders" also keep the heavy rolled up tarps from being placed on top of the freight which can cause damage. This special equipment is just another way that Kaiser Transport, Inc. provides the service that our customers expect and deserve. It also make our driver's job easier and safer- allowing them to stay on the ground to tarp the freight.
